Solution needed for UT inspection machine to detect Intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) in SS 316 pipe for examination of joints of recirculation loop in Boiling Water Reactor.
Looking for a UT inspection machine to detect Intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) in SS 316 pipe for examination of joints of recirculation loop in Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) at a nuclear site in India. There are more than 100 joints and the line size is 27 inches or 685 mm OD with a wall thickness of 30mm. There is a low background radiation so require automation to reduce the human interference. The company is looking for European or US manufacturer who has the experience of similar work. The complete work will be performed in three stages
- 1st UT Examination of Joints (Ultrasonic Inspection)
- 2nd Machining
- 3rd Automated Welding
Specification : Pipe Size is 686 mm OD x 29 mm wall thickness. SCC is to be characterised (length, depth, orientation etc. of the cracks) at around 100 Nos of circumferential weld joints on this piping.
